Stories from the world’s refugee camps and settlements – in pictures

Stories from the world’s refugee camps and settlements – in pictures

A big number of people in third world coutries are displaced. Most of them are living in refugee camps. These are just a few stories among the millions.
Arond 50,000- 54,000 people – mostly from war stricken countries in the Arab world lie Syria – are currently hosted in Jordan’s Azraq refugee camp, which has grown by 86% since January. More than half of the camp’s population are children, including some 364 unaccompanied minors. Many families are trying to build a life for themselves in the camp, despite soaring temperatures in summer and bracing cold in winter. The basic needs to protect those in the camp from the extremes of winter are still being attended to by UNHCR and other aid organisations, with high demand for heaters, gas cylinders and thermal blankets.
Like most of Iraq’s refugee camps, Kawergosk in Iraqi Kurdistan is home to a large population of Syrians fleeing the conflict in their homeland. More than four million Syrians have sought refuge across international borders since 2011, mostly in neighbouring countries including Iraq and Lebanon. About 250,000 Syrians and one million internally displaced Iraqis are currently hosted in the autonomous region of Iraqi Kurdistan, placing enormous strain on local resources. At Kawergosk, vital education services for displaced children are under threat, due to an economic crisis in the region.
Syrian refugees Hany and his younger brother Ashraf share a laugh outside their family’s shelter at an informal tented settlement in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley. Ashraf was born on 25 March 2011 – the day that Syria’s conflict began. Hany and Ashraf’s family fled Homs in 2014, after three years of siege by government forces had destroyed much of the city. Hany was a talented student in Syria and his most precious possessions now are his high school diplomas. Holding them proudly, he says: “These are my life, they are my future. I left everything behind in Syria, but not these.”
Tanzania’s Nduta refugee camp is home to some 43,000 refugees fleeing political unrest and the threat of tribal conflict in neighbouring Burundi. The camp was reopened by UNHCR in response to overcrowding in Nyarugusu, one of the largest refugee camps in the world. About 200 refugees a day began arriving at Nduta in the wake of violence following a failed coup, triggered by president Pierre Nkurunziza’s unconstitutional decision to run for a third term in May 2015.
Before Aleppo, some of the worst fighting of the Syrian conflict took place in Homs. Here, Radhi, 85, stands on the street outside his destroyed home in Wadi Al-Sayeh, in the old city district. Radhi recalls what happened with deep sadness: “It is painful. I worked hard for 40 years, put all my money into it, only to find it destroyed.” One of the biggest challenges facing returnees is the rebuilding of their homes in old Homs and Hamidiyeh, a project supported by UNHCR.
Established in 2012, Zaatari in Jordan is the world’s fifth-largest refugee camp, and home to more Syrian refugees than any other camp. With a population of nearly 80,000, it has taken on many features of a longer-term settlement, with shops, cafes and other businesses setting up within its confines. After arriving from Daraa in Syria in 2013 with her family, Alaa (pictured) met her husband in the camp and is now a UNHCR DAFI scholar, studying to become a teacher at university. The DAFI initiative was created by UNHCR to provide funding for the education of refugees in their host countries
Rita Lubyanaya, 13, and her 11-year-old sister Yana return to their badly damaged home in eastern Ukraine. Hundreds of thousands of people were displaced and an estimated 10,000 buildings damaged or destroyed in the conflict that began in the region in 2014. Efforts to rebuild homes have been hampered by intermittent fighting, severe restrictions on movements, suspension of benefit payments to internally displaced people and the interruption of aid to non-government controlled areas. UNHCR, local NGOs, volunteers and village administrators were helping to rehabilitate 1,500 homes by late 2016.
The deprivations of war are etched on the face of 66-year-old Vladimir Garmash as he surveys his destroyed home in the village of Georgievka in eastern Ukraine. Thousands of homes were damaged and tens of thousands of civilians were forced to live in basements and bomb shelters for months at a time after the conflict erupted in 2014
The Sherkole refugee camp in western Ethiopia is home to about 4,500 people who have fled the ongoing violence and instability in nearby South Sudan. In spite of the difficulties they face with some aspects of daily life in the camp, 13-year-old Nyamamynha and her younger sister are determined to excel in their studies. Here, they read their homework assignments with the help of a solar lantern, donated by Sweden’s Stichting af Jochnick Foundation. “We like school very much, but without light it would be very difficult for us to read,” says Nyamamynha.
Many people displaced by the severe fighting in eastern Aleppo have sought refuge in the Jibreen temporary shelter in the south-east of the city. Conditions are desperate and there are now families who depend entirely on the aid they receive from humanitarian agencies working on the ground such as UNHCR.

The Earth 🌍 was Ruled by 8 Kings who were Immortal

ANCIENT SUMERIAN WRITINGS REVEAL THE EARTH WAS RULED BY EIGHT IMMORTAL KINGS FOR 241,200 YEARS
More than a dozen copies of a mysterious text referred to as the Sumerian King Lists have been uncovered over the years by archaeologists in regions as disparate as ancient Babylon, Susa, and Assyria. They are all believed to be copies of a single original manuscript which is thought to have been written during the Third Dynasty of Ur by most historians, although some believe it might have been written even earlier. The best-preserved example of this ancient text is called the Weld-Blundell Prism and is on public display in the Ashmolean Museum.

AN ANCIENT TEXT TELLS OF ALIEN RULERS OF ANCIENT EARTH

The Sumerian King Lists have baffled historians ever since they were uncovered by modern human beings. The text describes a fascinating period in history when beings referred to as gods ruled over humankind of tens of thousands of years. The manuscript makes reference to eight kings who ‘descended from heaven’ who ruled for an astonishingly long period of 241,200 years. Each of these deified kings met their end during the Great Flood which devastated the population of the world. After the flood, the text claims that another ‘kingship was lowered from heaven’ and that these beings took up control of the people of Earth once again.
For a long time, it has been believed that the stories of these incredibly long-lived kings, their eventual demise, and their replacement were simply the mythology of the ancient civilization who compiled the Sumerian King List. However, some have speculated that the text might not be mythology at all. The fact that the kings are said to have descended from heaven has led a few people to suggest that they might have been of an otherworldly origin. This would mean that their incredibly long reigns over the cities might be literal rather than metaphorical as these alien beings might have had much longer lifespans than human beings. They may have even been immortal.

ARE THESE MOON PICTURES WITH SAME BACKGROUND PROOF OF FAKE MOON LANDING?

One of the most discussed hoax conspiracies of all time is probably the authenticity Moon Landing. The controversial topic has led many people to doubt the Apollo lunar missions for a long time and many have studied and analyzed most of the missions footage and photos to see if they could identify any flaw or error.

NASA has always said that the lunar missions were indeed real and that all media should be regarded as non edited or staged. There are two images that have light a fuse among tin foil conspiracists claiming that it's shocking evidence that the moon landing was all fake. The images shows two backgrounds that are similar but with some notable differences on the foreground. Moon hoax believers think these two images were either edited or staged in a studio with a fake background. However, there is more to it. So does it really prove the moon landing was fake?

Mythical Creatures Discovered in UK.

February 17, 2017 0 Comments

Thousands of wooden boxes with mythical creatures and bizarre artwork were found in the basement of a mysterious mansion in the UK.
Thomas Theodore Merrylin was the former owner of the mansion. He was a Crypto-naturalist, Zoologist and Xeno-Archaeologist born in 1782 in Hellingshire, North England. Other than his curious hobby of collecting remains of uncatalogued or rare species, he is also remembered for his incredible lifespan of approximately 160 years. While some specimens in this collection are clearly the product of human ingenuity, there are others that puzzle even the most skeptical of minds. Sketches and illustrations show that a thorough analysis had been performed on these fabled beings, but it also points out to a possible blueprint which served as a standpoint for creation.

In any case, the bizarre collection is sure to raise numerous questions. It cannot be dismissed as a forgery, nor pure artistic concept. So, if proven to be true, it will challenge numerous notions imposed by our modern culture. Is it possible that such fabled creatures existed in a not-so-far-away past? If so, why would such an alternative reality be concealed from us?

Treasure Found inside a Hangar.

MAN FOUND A HISTORICAL TREASURE INSIDE AN ABANDONEND HANGAR IN KAZAKHSTAN

Ralph Mirebs is an urban explorer and a photographer who stumbled upon an abandoned hangar while traveling through the Central Asian country of Kazakhstan.
His curiosity was piqued by the mysterious and rather ominous looking building, and he decided to explore what was inside. What he discovered there is genuinely remarkable.

AMAZING SOVIET SPACE SHUTTLES DISCOVERED IN AN ABANDONED HANGAR
The abandoned hangar in question once formed part of the enormous and very important Soviet space complex. Today, this particular hangar is not in operation, but the Kazakh-controlled Baikonur Cosmodrome which it used to be controlled by is still up and running to this day. It has become such a valuable center of space exploration and new technology that European and American astronauts have launched missions from the region along with their Russian counter-parts.

The abandoned hangar had a very interesting history and played an important role in the space race between the Soviet Union and the United States. It was constructed in 1974 and became the base for the Buran Space Shuttle program. It was in this abandoned hangar that some of the greatest technological minds from the Communist world gathered together to develop new and highly sophisticated space shuttles that were intended to give the Russians and their allies an edge over the capitalist West in the race to space. The project was shuttered just before the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1988, but the hangar remained in operation until 1993. Since that year, the building has been abandoned by personnel, and the fascinating laboratory has been left just as it was on the day that they left the facility for the last time. When Mireles walked inside the now abandoned hangar, he found a veritable time capsule giving him a glimpse into a bygone age of astonishing technological insight and development. While much of the facility has been destroyed by natural erosion, the general layout of the laboratory has been left intact, along with two of the Buran shuttles developed in the heady time of the space race. It is thought that these two shuttles are among the most sophisticated to have ever been produced by the Soviet Union. It is remarkable that these shuttles have been left to the mercy of Mother Nature instead of being preserved for posterity in one of the former Soviet Union’s many space race museums. Is there a reason why these shuttles have been secreted away in an abandoned space in Kazakhstan? Is there something special about them that the Soviets wanted to keep a secret from the outside world even after the end of the cold War?
